Understand your statistics
The Statistics screen shows the number of scans of your QR codes, which you can filter by QR code and by period. It is the screen for detailed analysis. You will also find figures elsewhere:
- the Dashboard shows a summary of the whole account: number of active QR codes, total scans and most-scanned QR codes;
- the page of each QR code shows its total scans and its own scan chart.
The Statistics screen and the Dashboard summary are reserved for members who have the Statistics permission.
Which QR codes you see
The Statistics screen only lists the QR codes that you can manage: those you created, those of the account or those created via the API, depending on your permissions (see Manage users). A member who has the “Statistics” permission without any QR code management permission sees the message “No QR code visible.”
The Dashboard summary, on the other hand, covers all the QR codes of the account.
What is counted, and what is not
A scan is counted when the person scanning reaches your destination, or the intermediate page of the grace period. The following are not counted:
- a second scan of the same QR code from the same connection (same IP address) within 5 seconds (double tap, automatic preview by the camera app). Two phones on the same Wi-Fi scanning the same QR code within these 5 seconds therefore count only once;
- a scan that lands on the information page of a Paused QR code (see Understand your account status).
QR Suisse keeps no individual details about the people who scan: no log per scan, no time of scan, no device, no country, no stored IP address. Only the total per day and per QR code is kept.
To rule out double scans, a technical fingerprint is kept in the server's memory for 5 seconds at most, then disappears. It is never written to your statistics.
Filter by QR code and by period
- QR codes: tick one or more QR codes to narrow the display. No checkbox selected = all QR codes.
- From / To: set the period. You cannot choose a date earlier than the viewable history of your plan (see below).
Click Filter. The result shows the total number of scans over the period, then a table by day. Beyond 31 data points, scans are grouped by month to remain readable.
The screen also reminds you of the history you have access to, for example: “Available history: the last 15 months on the Pro plan, since …”. On the Free plan, it offers the See Pro plan link.
Viewable history by plan
| Plan | Viewable history |
|---|---|
| Free | Last 7 days |
| Pro | Last 15 months |
| Entreprise | Last 15 months |
This limit does not mean that older data is lost. Daily statistics are kept for 15 months for all accounts, whatever the plan, then deleted automatically. On the Free plan, the history beyond 7 days already exists in the background: it becomes viewable again as soon as you switch to the Pro or Entreprise plan.
Other ways to access your figures
- Export (CSV) (Pro and Entreprise): the Scans column gives the total scans of each exported QR code. See Bulk actions and exports.
- API (Pro and Entreprise): an API key that has the “Read statistics” right can read the statistics of your QR codes. See the public “API Documentation” page.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I choose certain dates?
Because they are older than the viewable history of your plan: 7 days on the Free plan, 15 months on the Pro and Entreprise plans. On the Free plan, the data still exists in the background, for up to 15 months.
If I switch to the Pro or Entreprise plan, do I get my history back immediately?
Yes. Daily statistics are kept for 15 months for all accounts: switching to Pro or Entreprise only widens the period you can view, with no delay.
Can I find out who scanned my QR code, or from which device?
No. QR Suisse collects no individual data about the people who scan: only a total number of scans per day and per QR code.
Is every scan counted?
Almost. A second scan of the same QR code from the same connection (same IP address) within 5 seconds is not counted, to avoid duplicates. A scan of a “Paused” QR code is not counted either, because it does not reach your destination.
Why does the Statistics screen show “No QR code visible”?
Because you have no QR code management permission: the Statistics screen only covers the QR codes you can manage. The Dashboard summary, on the other hand, covers the whole account. Ask an administrator of the account to adjust your permissions.
If I archive a QR code, do I lose its statistics?
No. Archiving stops the redirection but keeps the QR code's counter and history. Only a permanent deletion erases the statistics, along with the QR code itself.
Why does the total in the list differ from the total on the Statistics screen?
For several reasons. The list shows the total since the QR code was created, whereas the Statistics screen only adds up the period and the QR codes chosen in the filters. In addition, the daily detail is deleted after 15 months, whereas a QR code's total is kept for as long as that QR code exists. Finally, the Dashboard summary covers the whole account, whereas the Statistics screen only counts the QR codes you can manage.
