  1. The list of documents for the tax return. Every year, your reminder letter carries the same QR code, which leads to the up-to-date list of documents to provide. You update the list on your website: the letter template and the QR code stay the same.

  2. A client portal that changes software. Your brochures and engagement letters point to the client portal. The day you change solutions, you redirect the QR code to the new address, and the documents your clients already have remain usable.

  3. The office plaque and the partners' cards. The plaque stays in place for years. Its QR code leads to appointment booking, then to another page if you change tools. The partners' business cards can carry a Business card QR code, which stays up to date even after a change of number.

  4. A firm with several people. The Free plan covers 3 QR codes and 1 user. With the Pro and Entreprise plans, each partner and each employee has their own access, with the rights you give them: manage their own QR codes or the firm's, view statistics. When someone leaves, you can deactivate their access immediately; their action history is kept.

What QR Suisse does, and what it doesn't

Does

  • redirects each QR code to the page of your choice, editable at any time;
  • keeps, for each QR code, what it needs to work: the label, the tags, the destination or the business card details. For each QR code, it also keeps a total count and a number of scans per day; neither the device, nor the country, nor the IP address of the person scanning is stored in the database;
  • with Pro and Entreprise: access for each member of the firm, with their own rights, and the firm's subdomain (for example qr.your-firm.ch) instead of qrsuisse.ch.

Doesn't

  • store your files or your documents: they stay in your own tools (portal, practice software);
  • transmit any document, nor replace a secure portal;
  • create QR-bills;
  • tell you which client scanned a QR code.

Good practice: do not enter any information that could identify a client (name, file number, personal link to a document) in the label, the tags or the destination address of a QR code. This information is stored in your account, visible to the members who have access to it and included in the CSV export. The destination address also opens for anyone who scans the QR code. For a letter sent to several clients, use the same QR code for all of them rather than one QR code per client.

Frequently asked questions

Does QR Suisse store my clients' documents?
No. QR Suisse keeps the QR code's destination and its scan statistics, not the content of the files, tax returns or documents it points to. These stay in your own tools.
Can I keep the same QR code from one tax period to the next?
Yes. As long as your QR Suisse account stays active and the service is available, the QR code printed on your letter template stays the same. You update the page it points to, or you change its destination from your account. For a QR code printed with a custom domain, see question 5.
Does QR Suisse know which client scanned the QR code?
No. For each QR code, QR Suisse keeps a total count and a number of scans per day; neither the device, nor the country, nor the IP address of the person scanning is stored in the database. You know whether an item is being used, not by whom.
How do I limit what each employee can do?
With the Pro and Entreprise plans, you choose each member's rights: manage their own QR codes or the whole account's, view statistics, manage users, manage the subscription. These rights can be combined and changed at any time. A deactivated member loses access immediately.
Can I use a domain in the firm's name?

Yes, with the Pro and Entreprise plans: a subdomain of a domain name the firm controls, for example qr.your-firm.ch. It is set up once, with two DNS records. Two points to know before printing:

  • the name of this subdomain is permanently recorded in public certificate logs (Certificate Transparency) that anyone can consult, even if you remove the domain later: avoid a name that reveals confidential information, such as a client's or a file's name;
  • QR codes printed with this domain only work with an active Pro or Entreprise subscription, with no grace period: read the help page before printing.
Can I create QR-bills with QR Suisse?
No. QR Suisse is a general-purpose dynamic QR code generator. It does not create QR-bills, the Swiss standard for paying invoices. For a QR-bill, use your bank or your accounting software.
Is QR Suisse suitable for a profession bound by professional secrecy?
QR Suisse takes no position on your professional obligations and does not guarantee that they are met: it is up to you to assess whether the tool suits your activity. The QR code only leads to the destination address you choose; only put information there that is intended for everyone who scans it. Our privacy policy describes precisely which data we process and which we do not.
